What do I need to finish up my swap?

Do you have any installation tips for me?

  • Always check all water and oil hoses and clamps, if they look suspicious it's a good thing to replace them.
  • Note this engine will not come with any sensors so remember to use your crank and cam sensors look at pictures on the right for location of these sensors.
  • Note this engine is built to fit years ranging 95-99. If your working on a 95-96 model you will to reuse your intake camshaft timing sprocket to work with your cam sensor located in front of engine cyl head. And if your working on a 97-99 model your cam sensor is located on the rear of intake camshaft. and all model 95-99 have the crank sensor on front of oil pump casing.
  • When replacing these sensors you have to remove timing belt so please make sure you time your engine back properly a mistake here will ruin valves and you will need a valve job."Costly mistake"
  • Oil filter adapter on our engine has three brass fitting one is a T fitting to accommodate both oil gauge and oil light sensors/sending unit the other two are for an external oil cooler thats where you hook it up also see pictures for a better understanding.
  • Always when installing a turbo engine double check your turbo unit for any sloppiness on turbine shaft, because a bad turbo can be the cause of killing a good engine by sucking oil so please check your turbo unit make for sure it isn't using up oil. "good sign would be extreme smoke upon accelerations"
  • If your car still has the factory plastic radiator please after installation check all seams for leaks these plastic radiators after time seem to have coolant seapage around tank seals.
  • We also recommend a new radiator cap located on upper water neck."better to be safe then sorry"
